The Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6 by the Chelsea Truck Company, Kahn Design's SUV division, is certainly an impressive vehicle. But is it something my soft suburban self needs? Probably not, that's why they're not offering a milder version of the vehicle, the Flying Huntsman 6x6 Civilian Carrier.

It was unveiled earlier this week at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Bigger than the Land Rover Defender 110, the 200-inch long vehicle can seat up to nine people thanks to its 4 rows of seats. Kahn Design CEO and founder Afzal Kahn said the Flying Huntsman 6x6 Civilian Carrier is ideal for “big families who enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors.”

Not one, but two moonroofs let light into the expansive cabin. Expect the Kahn Design treatment, such as quilted leather trim, machined aluminum accents, and a modern infotainment system with navigation.

The drive pushes out to all size wheels thanks to the special six-wheel-drive system, which features a high and low mode. A 2.2-liter turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine gives the vehicle 170 horsepower. If you want more, the 6.2-liter V-8 option will yield instead 430 hp instead. Besides power, you can also upgrade the suspension and brakes, as well as 18-inch wheels wrapped in Cooper LTZ 275/55 tires.

Like any beefcake of a vehicle, this one will set your wallet back a fair bit. The starting price of the Flying Huntsman 6x6 Civilian Carrier is $345,400. Compared to Hennessey’s F-150-based VelociRaptor 6x6, this is about $4,000 less.
