It's a funny thought that often times I find myself more excited to see what mods come to a car than I am to see a new car itself. The Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck is one of those times. At last, there is Prior Design’s new widebody kit to satisfy my craving for customization.

This is one of the rare instances where the focus on this kit was more visual than performance. It's not that hard to find a truck that can tow an elephant or two, this is more of a truck you'd drive to a formal event.

Though if you are looking for that rough and tough outdoors upgrades, then the PD400 kit would be more your style. It outfits your X-Class with black accents, PD3Forged wheels, all-terrain tires, and larger fog lights.

I'm here for the PD500 however. This gives you a new front fascia, low-profile sport tires, new wheels, new exhaust tips, and swollen fenders. There are no power changes here. You're stuck with the stock 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, pushing out 164 horsepower.

There are diesel options, however, for those willing to make that change for more power. This ranges from a 2.3-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder to the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6, which has 255 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
