When you design a heavy-duty pickup truck, you always want to boast about how heavy duty it is. The more tow power, the more bragging power. The winner of 2018's bragging power seems to go to the Ford F-Series Super Duty. This model is capable of a hefty 34,000 pounds, 1,500 pounds more than the last model. To compare, that's about the weight of 2 fully grown male elephants (African Bush elephants, to be precise).

Todd Eckert, Ford’s head of truck marketing, remarked on the new Super Duty.

“Super Duty customers expect the best, and for 2018 we’re giving our customers even more power and torque from our 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel – delivering the most horsepower and torque available among all heavy-duty pickups. Plus, our new F-450 pickup now includes a 4X2 model, enabling our customers to get more done with the segment’s best payload and towing.”

That kind of tug means more push. The 6.7-liter diesel engine manages 50 hp and 935 lb-ft of torque. These numbers were achieved thanks to redesigned cylinder heads and recalibrated fuel and turbo boost. The fuel efficiency of this vehicle, particularly when pulling a full load, remains unknown, but we're guessing pretty low.

You will be able to find a 2018 Super Duty F-450 4×2 on dealer lots towards the back end of winter with a price tag of $52,830.
