There are few better ways to encourage hard work than with extra rewards. Tesla thinks so, at least. The electric automaker is offering new incentives to employees to deliver more cars and participate in the Autopilot Hardware 3 test program.

Tesla is has been looking for "hundreds of employees" to test their fully self-driving system, offering a free autopilot upgrade with the purchase of a new car.

Now they're pushing even more for employees to participate. CEO Elon Musk emailed his subordinates regarding the idea, clarifying an additional $5,000 discount.

“Important point I forgot to mention is that, since we still only have premium interior available for Model 3, the $5,000 premium interior cost will be waived for this program. For those who have already ordered as part of the FSD program, Tesla will honor the discount.”

Pair that with the free autopilot addition and self-driving, that's about $13,000 off of a Model 3 for Tesla employees. To further reduce cost, Musk stated that they can also applied built-up paid time off toward the purchase.

Like most incentives, availability is limited. Though it does bring to light that, under normal circumstances, Tesla workers don't get any sort of discount on their products.
