The BAJA 500 is a very popular race and is one of the most dangerous off-road races in the world. The majority of the 500 miles is all on desert terrain, meaning that these teams have to design and create cars with incredible off-road power, stability, and reliability. Even if everything is perfect on paper, it doesn't mean that the race is going to go according to plan.

Many different factors slow racers down, cripple vehicles, and leave teams unable to finish. Since it is 500 miles of off-road racing, the teams have multiple drivers. Depending on their experience, certain drivers will be assigned their own chunk of the track to command.

In a video down below, you can take an inside look at one of the teams in the BAJA 500. Andrew Collins, an editor over at Jalopnik, is actually a part of this team as their 2nd co-driver. Check it out down below. It's a little under 15 minutes, but it's definitely something cool to check out!
