Subaru announced back in June that a limited number of STI and BRZs would be developed for the track. They would be known as the STI Type RA and BRZ tS. Only 500 were said to be made, at an undeclared price. Now, only 6 months later, we find out that price.

The STU Type RA will cost $49,855, including delivery, while the BRZ tS will be $34,355, also including delivery. This is compared to the base price of $36,995 and $26,315 respectively.

But is it worth it? the STI Type RA will have an improved cold air intake, stronger pistons, high-flow performance exhaust, and retuned ECU. The roof and wing will be replaced with carbon fiber. The shifter will be a short-throw with a revised 3rd gear. The dampers in the back are Bilstein, with silver Brembo calipers are strapped on to cross-drilled rotors. There are 19-inch BBS wheels and Yokohama Advan Sport tires. The front struts have been retuned along with the stability control. And of course, there are a few cosmetic changes.

The BRZ tS has the same power as the standard, though overall performance is improved with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires on lightweight 18-inch wheels. These fit well on the stiffer chassis. It gets an STI-tuned Sachs dampers and coil springs with a V-brace in the engine bay. As for the body, There are manually adjustable carbon fiber rear spoilers and a black body kit. And my favorite part of all, a frameless rearview mirror.

Those are some good upgrades. Whether its worth the price bump is up to you.
