The Ford F-150 Raptor is a common favorite among truck enthusiasts. But what if there was better? Saleen Automotive, a California mod shop known for their work on the Mustang and S7 supercar, has announced their take on trucks: the Saleen Sportruck XR.

The beasty ride was debut at Harris Ford Lincoln in Lynnwood, Washington, last Friday. This was preceded by a teaser from the Saleen Facebook page.

Actual performance specs were not provided, but the company tends to use naturally aspirated and supercharged engines. Saleen was at least night enough to tell us that the truck will have at least 700 horsepower.

This project had a special focus on suspension and off-road credentials. Developed alongside Foutz Motorsports' Greg Foutz, the suspension has a good 2.5-inch coil-over sock set in the front, with a Smooth series set of the same size in the back. If you want more, there will be a Black Level option with 12-inch front suspension travel up front and 14-inch in the back, as well as bypass-valve shocks by Fox.

Regardless of what package you choose, you'll see Saleen rear leaf springs, bump stops, and frame gussets. They'll have 3.8-inch vented front rotors with two-piston caliper brakes in the front and 13.8-inch vented rear rotors with single-piston caliper brakes in the back, a Saleen signature.

No word on price, but the Saleen Sportruck XR is expected to hit the display floors this fall.
