Racetracks are cool. Seeing hypercars speed down the Nurburgring is great. But there's a certain level of realism thats lost with such levels of extreme. We've seen the Porsches and the Ferraris. But what about the CR-V or the minivan?

NBCSN is launching a new show that looks to resolve this, called Proving Grounds. More of an obstacle course than a race track, the show pits all sorts of vehicles on their course. They have to handle speed bumps, wet roads, fake deer, and even parallel parking.

J.F. Musial, president and CEO of Tangent Vector, the production company behind Proving Grounds, spoke about how they wanted to create a show where a supercar could be put up against a minivan, and it still fit. Though despite their health history with NBCSN, they didn't think they would be greenlit.

To promote the upcoming show, a segment has been posted on YouTube, where a police Enforcer attempts the track. You can see how it handles the speed and maneuverability well, but falls short on the inclimate conditions and the parallel parking sections.

The show will be available in its entirety tonight at 7:00 PM on NBCSN.
