Have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined a Mercedes-Benz 190E with a modern AMG C63? Of course you haven't. That's a rightfully silly thought. It's also a thought that Piper Motorsport had, but they made it a reality.

The Virginia based company has taken a 190E body and set it upon the powertrain and chassis of an AMG C63. The result? A radical fusion of 80's style and modern power.

The project began in 2013, with stripping a C63 of its drivetrain, suspension, brakes, firewall, dash, electronics, and floor pan. Once it was as clean as a whistle, the 190E body was grafted on and the components were reinstalled. For additional flare, the body was given DTM-grade fender flares and a large wing in the back.

Almost everything under the hood had to be adjusted, shifted, or otherwise tinkered with to make it work smoothly. Replacing the original 2.3-liter inline-4 with a 6.2-liter V-8 will do that. So don't expect to use a factory manual for either model to find where the oil coolers went.

Our commendations go out to Piper Motorsports. You've created something we never thought of, that's for sure.
