With older performace cars, there becomes an increasing concern with finding replacement parts for that model. Thanks to new program by Nissan called the Nismo Heritage Program, it's about to become a little easier, starting with the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R.

As part of the joint efforts between Nissan, it's Nismo Racing division, Autech Japan, and various suppliers, it will be substantially easier for owners of aging Nissan performance cars to get the parts they need.

Nismo has been in touch with GT-R owners to find out what parts are both the hardest to find, and the most important towards maintaining its operation and inspection. Starting on December 1, Nismo Heritage will be providing (for purchase, of course) 80 new parts for the 1989-1995 Skyline GT-R. This includes wiring harnesses, hoses, bumpers, and emblems. Any parts that cannot be reproduced, Nismo will explore acceptable alternatives.

After the program has launched, Nismo Heritage will think about expanding their part selection for the R32, as well as the idea of offering parts for the R33 and R34 GT-R models.

Even though the Skyline never formally came to the States, It is legal to import models from the 80s and 90s. If the scarcity of replacement parts was what held you back from importing one of Japans most famous supercars, then you can finally rest easy.
