Have you ever thought "my headlights aren't dynamic enough?" Well, neither have I. Even so, that hasn't stopped Mercedes-Maybachs from developing their latest creation: image-projecting headlights.

The new headlights, called Digital Light, cast an image on the ground ahead at a two-million-pixel resolution. Mercedes says the technology can be used to inform the driver without having them look away from the road, as well as inform other drivers of your intentions.

Or to lean away from the fiction half of science-fiction, the headlights can modify themselves on the fly to fit your current driving conditions. Cameras, sensors, and mapping data are used to evaluate road conditions and responding accordingly.

Despite the possibilities, Mercedes wants to focus more on safety than on showing off. Some examples include displaying guidelines for narrow roads, indicating pedestrians, blind spot warnings, lane departure warnings, collision warnings, speed notifications, and low-grip surface alerts.

Depending on the technology's success, we may see it implemented in mainstream models. Until then, it will remain exclusive to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. No price was stated, but we can assume it'll cost a pretty penny.
