We recently reported on Mark Wahlberg's new car dealership venture in Columbus, Ohio. But his interest in cars is more than just as a business. The actor recently talked about how one of his first jobs was as an auto mechanic.

In his teen years, Wahlberg did all of those things that a tune up guy would do, oil changes, repairs, flipping, and even towing. His interest in vehicle maintenance then started to bleed into his personal life.

"I had quite a few cars on my first policy when I was 16 1/2—my insurance policy—because I bought a car for $200, fixed it up a little bit, sold that car, Bought another car. And my mother was like 'What is going on? How are you getting all these cars?' "

Wahlberg expands on his first "expensive" car as well. With the money made in the Mark Mark and the Funky Bunch field, he had purchased a Mercedes-Benz. He explains that it was a bad idea, as he couldn't afford insurance on the vehicle. Since he still lived in the bad part of Boston, it was frequently vandalized and stolen from. Though as his music career took off, he eventually could afford insurance and a better place to live.

It's easy to forget that many times, celebrities started life out in a very similar way as we did.
