Garages aren't only home to cars, they are often inhabited by mice. Tom Sharp decided to do something to keep his ride safe.

This Granite Falls resident cares deeply about his 1991 Acura NSX. And like with any treasured vehicle, he drives it sparingly. The rest of its time is spent stored away in his barn, which has a bit of a mouse problem.

“So it’s parked in my barn and the mice have been attacking my car for 25 years,” Sharp said. “It’s been quite annoying, frustrating and costly. I’ve probably spent $2,500 just on cleaning to get the stink out and it’s never entirely out.”

If you can't get rid of the mice, then you get rid of their access. This was sharp's mindset when he designed a mouse-proof barrier to surround his vehicle with, now known as the Boxkat Rodent Barrier.

When Sharp took the prototype to a local pet store and saw that none of their rodents could escape the wall, he knew he made something great. After some talk with a patent attorney, he plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign selling 200 units at $250 apiece.

Sharp believes there is a tremendous market for the invention. From RV owners to golf cart managers to Farmers, plenty of people are at risk of rodents damaging their goods. The wall would provide a safe solution to their problem without utilizing poisons or electricity, two common liabilities.

With enough interest and investment, the price of the product can decrease. Sharp is hoping to reduce the price as low as $100 dollars, if enough people buy into it.
