A huge crash at Texas Motor Speedway ended in a shocking result, as only 11 of the original 22 racers were able to finish the race. Of the 11 that were eliminated from racing, three two-car teams were completely removed from the race. Ed Carpenter Racing, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, and Dale Coyne Racing were all taken out of the running and were forced to abandon the race.

While this was an extremely dangerous situation, all of the drivers were cleared and only suffered from minor injuries. Those who have races coming up, such as Mikhail Aleshin who will be racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be good to go come race time. After the crash, the race had nearly 31 minutes of red-flag down time before resuming.

The crash was caused by an unfortunate pinch where Hinchcliffe was unable to maneuver his car out of harms way. He ended up making contact with Aleshin and started fishtailing out of control. This crash immediately knocked out Hinchcliffe, Kanaan, Aleshin, Munoz, Vautier, Jones, Carpenter, Hildebrand, and Hunter-Reay. There were also 100 laps still remaining at the time of this crash, which is a lot of race left. It was a very unfortunate event for all of the racers, and you can see the video right down below.
