One thing I can always rely on in the automotive industry is theming with vehicle names. Now, much like how the Demon brought the Exorcist, Thunder has been met with Lightning.

Lister, the British performance group, previously developed the Jaguar F-Type-based Thunder sports car. Now they're back to create what they're calling the fastest SUV there is, the Lightning SUV.

The Lightning is based on the 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which we first saw at the 2018 New York Auto Show last March. So far all we've seen is a teaser shot of the front end. Though from this we can see rather large intakes with aero curtains, joined by a lip spoiler. We also noticed the sizable rotors on the wheels.

As for power, the Lightning will have the same 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine that you'd find the Jaguar Land Rover. If it's dialed up to 660+ Horsepower, that means only the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk would have a higher stock SUV power.

Lister certainly has a liking for the Jaguar brand, having modified a number of their vehicles already. They're quickly becoming the unofficial performance branch of the automaker, like AMG to Mercedes Benz and Alpina to BMW.

More details on the Lightning as they become available. Lister has stated that the proper reveal isn't far away.
