Land Rover is looking to expand their selection (and their profits) with a new platform, as well as two new model lines.

The platform, known as the Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA), will be introduced through the new Land Rover Defender in 2020. But Jaguar Land Rover will also be introducing two new model lines between 2021 and 2024, according to an investor meeting on June 22.

There hasn't been any word so far as to what the new model lines would be, but reports are pointing toward an SUV type vehicle and an upper-class wagon potentially using the Road Rover name.

Many are seeing this recent announcement as a reaction to Q2 2018. Their first quarterly loss in three years, Jaguar Land Rover reported a hefty $276 million loss. These new investments are most likely an effort to recover long-term, though only time will tell.
