Rumors of another limited run Lamborghini are circulating, now with greater detail. Reports are claiming that we will see a new production next year with a hybrid V-12 power train, supercapacitors, and glow in the dark capabilities.

Statements by Road & Track claim that the upcoming hypercar, codenamed LB48H, will feature a hybrid V-12 powertrain, which will become the Lamborghini Aventador's successor power system This was later confirmed by Lambo CEO Stefano Domenicali, who said it would debut for both the Aventador and Huracán successors.

It's said to have 789 horsepower from the engine, with 49 more hp added by the electrical components. This is partially achieved by replacing a large, heavy battery with supercapacitors. This method provides significantly more energy quickly, at the cost of a lower-than-average charge potential. A futuristic vehicle with a similar powertrain setup was on display at the Terzo Millenio last year.

All of this coincides with a statement by Lamborghini's head of research and development, Maurizio Reggiani. He told reporters back in January that the Aventador's successor would have some form of electrification.

Reports claim that a glow in the dark model was showcased to prospective buyers last summer, though it's not clear exactly how. It's hard to imagine a hypercar using that off-greenish-white material normally used for glow in the dark. Said buyers did reveal a price tag of $3 million.

With any luck, we will see more details about this mystery vehicle at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show next March.
