Karma, the electric vehicle startup born out of Kisker, has partnered with Pininfarina on a collaborative project for later this year.

In an announcement on Thursday, the two firms stated that they would be working together, with the first collaborative effort to release as early as the second quarter of 2019. Details remain scarce, but Pininfarina CEO Silvio Angori did state that their firm will be lending their design expertise to Karma.

Currently, Karma only has a single product, the 2017 Revero, an extended range electric sedan. It's essentially a continuation of the 2012 Fisker Karma, which makes sense as to why it was the company's first choice.

Karma CEO Lance Zhou issued a statement, calling the partnership with Pininfarina the first in a series of collaborations that Karma is looking to initiate. This is part of what they call their Value-Forward strategy, which will bring others in to work on performance, AI, platforms, and more.

Zhou finished by stating that Karma will expand their luxury car market in the United States before expanding internationally.
