Let's say that you're in a small city in Iowa. You have, let's say, 30,000 people in your city and there's one Ford GT40 replica that drives around, and you just really want to steal it. Your plan is to take the car, paint it a different color, and then drive it around like it's yours. Absolutely fool-proof plan and there's no way that you'll get caught.

Miraculously, that happened in Marshalltown, Iowa, and the thief was caught within one day. He stole a bright yellow Ford GT40 replica, painted a horrible black color. I mean, it looks like a 14-year-old just went out back and spraypainted the hell out of it. Then, he just drove it around. Do you have any idea how much confidence that takes? To steal the only GT40 replica in your entire city, give it a terrible paintjob, and then say to yourself, "yeah I'm gonna take it out to pick up some groceries."

Once the story got on Facebook, people were very quick to help track him down. They reported where they had last seen a GT40 and one person was even able to say that they new the original owner, and couldn't tell who was driving the car. Normally car thefts are pretty stupid, but this is one of the dumbest ones I've heard about in a long time.
