Infiniti hasn't been resting on their laurels since last year's Pebble Beach show, when they displayed the Prototype 9. Now the company is back with a new electric concept with roots to retro design.

The new Infiniti concept moves away from the Grand Prix racing age that inspired the Prototype 9 in favor for the Le Mans racer look. Granted, the only image we have so far is this overhead shot of the driver's seat. Still, we can distinguish an offset cockpit, a minimalist windshield, and a yoke style steering wheel. We can see a vertical fin behind the seat akin to the Jaguar Type-D. We can't see the fill vehicle, but it certainly seems narrow.

The concept is a group effort between Infiniti's teams in Japan, the U.S. and the U.K.. Infiniti executive design director Karim Habib had the following to say.

"Our new concept provides clues to where the Infiniti brand is heading. For us, electrification means performance—our electrified cars will be powerful, efficient, and fun to drive, and the new concept is a physical representation of our electrified performance future."

With any luck, more information about the concept will be able before it's official debut August 23 at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
