Hyundai originally released the Genesis as their flagship luxury vehicle as a 2008 model (they also released the coupe back in 2009 as a 2010 model here in the U.S. of A.). The vehicle and nameplate have done so well, that Genesis is now Hyundai’s new luxury division (like Lexus to Toyota, Infinity to Nissan, and Acura to Honda). The Korean automaker has done strides in the past 9 years since the release of the Genesis. Here are some images of the vehicle...

In this author’s humble opinion, it is a very handsome car. It is my understanding that this car is going to be paired up against the class leader (since the history of forever), the BMW 3 series. If you don’t want to read the release, I will cover what is important right here:

‘Murican Engine Flavors:

G70 Sport (the one that matters) - 3.3L V6 turbo ~365 HP (converted from 370 PS) and 376 lbf•t (converted from 52 kgf•m.) 0 to 60 in ~4.7 seconds.

G70 (meh) - 2.0 I4 Turbo ~248 HP and ~260 lbf•t (converted from 36 kgf•m) 0 to 60 in ~who cares, it is going to be hogging the left lane below 60....

This looks a lot like its sister company’s vehicle, the Kia Stinger. I do believe they share the same platform, so you know, RWD with the option of AWD. I am really optimistic about the direction of the Genesis brand and I really can't wait to see the G70 in person. To me, it looks like Genesis is really trying to be a leader in design, which I think this class of cars is sorely lacking. I feel as if this entry division has become basic and bland. The G70 looks to be the spark we need to make an explosion in design language. Kind of what Chris Bangle did with BMW in the early to mid 2000s, except now it is BMW that is following.  We are watching the Genesis of a new company, and with that, have a wonderful day!
