Since their conception in 1991, Hennessey Performance Engineering has made quite the name for themselves. The Sealy, Texas based company has hit a new milestone: their 10,000th vehicle, and it's a Mustang.

The model itself is a 2019 Hennessey Heritage Edition Ford Mustang. The firm takes a modern Mustang GT and upgrades it with the HPE800 package. Only 19 examples will be produced, each with a nice selection of special features.

The first one to catch out eye is the paint job. Inspired by the 2018 Ford GT Heritage Edition, it dons a sharp red with white accents, and the signature "1" racing number front and center. Under all that paint is plenty of carbon fiber elements, such as the front splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler, and engine coil pack covers.

The vehicle's suspension is lowered and held up by a set of 20-inch, internally-developed, forged wheels with 15.1-inch rotor Brembo brakes. They come with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

The real impressive specs come from the powertrain, of course. The Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V-8 engine is boosted by a 3.0-liter supercharger. Everything considered, we see a total 808 horsepower and 677 pound-feet of torque. Numbers like this give it a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph.

Each of the 19 examples will cost $89,950. They will come with a serial numbered dash plaque and engine plaque, letter of authenticity, and a personal letter of gratitude from Hennessey CEO and founder John Hennessey.

Mr. Hennessey spoke about this accomplishment.

“We are very grateful to our customers, team members, dealers, family and friends who’ve shared and supported our passion for building powerful, fast, fun vehicles for the past 27 years. This is an exciting time for the company and we look forward to building the next 10,000 Hennessey cars and trucks in the years to come.”
