The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is one of the most impressive vehicles you'll lay your eyes on. There was a time when Hennessey looked to slay the Demon, but now they embrace it. The tuner is well known for the Camaro ZL1 Exorcist, named so because it intended to rival the Demon. Now Hennessey is offering a new package to demon owners, the HPE1000. To prove just how effective their work is, they even recorded it doing the quarter mile.

The HPE1000 Demon pushes out a hefty 1,035 hp at the crank. This allows it to achieve a quarter mile in 9.38-seconds, with a trap speed of 146.72 mph. This bests Dodge's own time of 9.65 seconds.

How does one hit these numbers? Hennessey added long-tube headers, upgraded pulleys, and a revised engine-management system to the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine under the hood. The car also gets Hennessey badges and serial numbers, but that doesn't make it any faster.

For even more kick, there's an HPE1200 package. Not only does this raise the horsepower to 1,500, but it also adds in everything needed to be NHRA legal, such as a parachute and a roll cage.

You can see for yourself what the Hennessey HPE1000 Demon is capable of in the video below. The growl of the engine as it blasts down the test track is music to my ears.
