The Ranger Raptor is an outstanding vehicle, which makes it all the more unfortunate that it's not coming to the United States. Hennessey Performance Engineering doesn't agree with the idea, so they've announced the Ford VelociRaptor Ranger.

First, it begins with a standard Ford Ranger. Its 2.3-liter turbo-4 engine is turbo boosted, a high-flow air system is installed, a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system is added, and the ECU tuning is modified. Combined, it produces a new output of 350 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. The new power is marked at giving a 0 to 60 time of 6.1 seconds.

But that's just regarding the power. Hennessey also upgraded the off-road performance potential of the vehicle. To help it tear up dirt, they've installed Stage One off-road suspension, a 4.0-inch lift, 17-inch Hennessey wheels with BF Goodrich off-road tires, and a new front bumper with LED lights as an optional upgrade. You can opt-in for roof lights, as well.

Considering the average expense for a Hennessey-made truck, this one is actually more on the affordable side. The entire tuning process will cost $19,950, not including the cost of the donor vehicle or shipping.

The VelociRaptor is a commonly used name by Hennessey for their take on Raptor vehicle mods. It started nearly 10 years ago when they did the same work to the Ford F-150 Raptor of that time. It's good to see the tradition continue.
