A new Chinese electric car company has announced their debut recently, and nothing more.

Going by the name "Gyon," the automaker held a formal launch event last week in Los Angeles, California. Former Chrysler CEO Tom LaSorda was there to speak at the event, though his association wasn't made clear. But the most interesting aspect of this announcement was the lack of any vehicles.

Gyon will be the luxury branch of Sitech, the electric car brand of Chinese auto giant FAW Group. With plans for nine models over eight years, they'll be unveiling their first concept in 2019. The company is working with Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters for the concept, who has a record of developing concepts and prototypes for a laundry list of established automakers. Their current goals are to reach 400,000 annual sales.

Like any electric automaker, Gyon has a focus on high performance and technology. The first model will allegedly have a 0 to 60 time of four seconds and over 400 miles on a single charge. It will also include a Bosch powered level 5 self-driving interface.

No word on pricing expectations for any of their upcoming models.

It's easy to make promises. I'll believe them when I see the vehicle itself.
