What happens when you're ejected from your role as president of Ford North America? If you're Raj Nair, you'd become the president of Canada's Multimatic Motorsports instead.

Nair was removed from his position at Ford North America for "inappropriate behavior." Though before this, he was a crucial component in the construction of the latest GT supercar and Le Mans racing program. Interestingly enough, Multimatic was the automaker of choice for the Ford GT. So while Nair is no longer associated with the project from Ford's end, he is from Multimatic's.

Multimatic confirmed the recent appointment, which had been set in place since May 7. Nair was with Ford for 31 years, and his immediate relief had come as a surprise to many in the industry. Details beyond the "inappropriate behavior" statement remain a mystery. Ford CEO Jim Hackett made a followup statement that didn't actually clarify anything, "We made this decision after a thorough review and careful consideration."

Understandably so, Nair owns a Ford GT personally. The exec showed the vehicle off last February, donning a "Victory" exterior paint scheme. The design imitates the Le Mans GT racer and is a package option only Ford employees have access to.
