Earlier today, Ford Motor Company held a press conference in regards to the company's interest in electrification. In the event, the automaker also released a few details about what may be the most powerful street-legal production car yet, a next-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

No, it won't be an electric vehicle. While very little is known about the specs and the only image we have is a dark teaser, Ford did tell us that it will be capable of 700 horsepower thanks to a supercharged V8 engine. Considering the Hellcat has 702 hp, and is significantly heavier than a Mustang Shelby, we might see if exceed speeds of 200 miles per hour.

The teaser image, seen above, shows off the shadowed front of the vehicle. The first thing we noticed was the large air intakes, a firm indicator of how powerful it could be. We also noticed the Shelby snake logo smack dab in the center. The girthy fenders might indicate wide tires, understandable for a vehicle of this performance.

The Roadster 2020 might have a run for their electrical money here soon.
