Ford Fiestas might be a thing of the past next year in the United States. According to rumors, Ford is going to be shifting their focus toward Europe, the Middle East, and Africa when it comes to Fiesta production. The car isn't selling very well in the States, mainly due to a decreasing demand for compact cars.

Keep in mind, this has not been officially confirmed, however the news is coming to us via a Ford executive. Robert Stiller stated, "The previous model was a global Ford product, and with the new generation, we are targeting only Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In North America, especially the U.S., China, and Latin America, the demand for such vehicles [subcompact] is declining, and we are reacting accordingly."

Right now, Ford is able to sell a little under 49,000 Fiestas per year in the United States. If you compare that to the over 300,000 they sell in Europe a year, it makes sense why they would be looking to change their focus. If you're a Fiesta lover, you might want to hurry up and buy an ST right now. This might be your last opportunity to get one.
