There's a special kind of love for classic cars. Reminiscent of a time and generation since passed, things like a good Mustang can't be replicated. But that doesn't mean they have to stay with the limitations of the past. Charge has announced a fully electric Powertrain swap for classic Ford Mustangs.

The British firm revealed their first electric Mustang in October. Based on a 1960's body, it replaced its original combustion engine with an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain. It can even alternate between all-wheel and rear-wheel drive.

Said powertrain is provided by Arrival, a designation of Charge Automotive. Pushing 402 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque, it can achieve a 0 to 62 mph time of only 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 124 mph.

The modifications extend beyond just the power. A Charge Mustang will offer modernized LED headlights, tail lights, grilles, and wheel spokes. A new braking system is added to handle the different form of power. The cabin is also stocked full of modern gadgets and luxuries.

Pricing and availability are unknown at this time.
