I'm so glad that people are finally doing something about this. I have no idea how leaving children and animals in hot cars has become such an incredibly gigantic issue, but for some reason it has. People are so damn busy that they forget their baby is in the back seat, walk away, and the kid ends up getting killed because of the stupid parent's negligence.

A bill is now in the works that will force all car manufacturers to place back seat alarms in cars. Whether is based off of weight, motion sensors, I don't care. As long as parents know that there is a child or animal in their back seat, I'm fine with it. It could be a giant boxing glove that pops out of the steering wheel to punch you in the face for all I care.

Nobody will ever be able to get off on a negligence charge for this anymore. If there is an alarm and you ignore it, your child will die and you will sit yourself down in a jail cell. There's no more, "well I had such a busy day. I can't believe this happened. I forgot he was even in the car." Nope. You're done. According to studies, 90 percent of these cases are due to accidentally forgetting the child. There was no intent to harm involved.

I'm not saying that these people are intentionally killing their children by any means. I'm sure that these parents don't want their child to die, but how can you forget that they're even in the car? You remember to take your keys so you don't get locked out, but you can't remember that your kid is in the back seat? Just pay attention!
