Having the wrong kind of car in the wrong kind of place is a recipe for disaster. We recently wrote about how Mark Wahlberg's first Mercedez-Benz was frequently broken into when he lived in a less-than-excellent area. But when it gets extreme enough, mere vandalism becomes Hollywood level heists. In this case, a custom 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing coupe was stolen from a hotel near the famed Nürburgring race track.

The owner, Thomas Rosier, stated that he left the vehicle in front of the hotel because the garage was full at the time. He felt the decision was safe, as the entire lot is monitored by security guards.

The event gained media attention when it was posted about on Facebook, and even more so when Rosier offered an approximate $284,000 reward for the vehicle.

Reworked from top to bottom, every inch of the vehicle has value. Though the thieves will likely have trouble cashing in on it, due to its unique nature. This has led to a worry that the vehicle will instead be disassembled and sold in pieces in order to avoid detection.

Anyone with information on the car’s location should contact the Mayen Police Department.
