A 79-year-old woman was caught in a speed trap going 147 mph in Belgium. She was cruising around at night because she couldn't sleep and was attempting to clear her head. She had no idea how fast she was going and took full responsibility for the speeding. She did not attempt to fight the ticket at all and was punished quite harshly.

She ended up getting fined over $4,600 and was given a three month driving ban. I'm not sure who goes for a 150 mph drive at night when they can't clear their head, but clearly this woman was pretty upset. Maybe she hadn't been able to sleep for a week, so she was just really out of it. The only thing I'm worried about now is the fact that she can't drive.

What happens when 3 a.m. rolls around and she's still wide awake? No more late-night joy rides down the highway. Maybe she'll have to turn to new forms of crime. For the sake of her and those around her, I hope she's able to sleep well for the next few months.
