A 19-year-old Texas man, Merrick David Isaacks, was arrested follow an investigation that began on June 7th. A cyclist had an unknown injury late that night and was rushed to the hospital. It was there that shotgun pellets were pulled from the cyclists back, shoulder, and brain stem. The police had no leads and didn't know who pulled the trigger.

After most investigation, police were able to connect this incident to another recent aggravated assault case. In that case, a witness said Isaacks threatened him with a shotgun and told him to drive around the city so he could "blow off steam." Isaacks also stated that he wanted to shoot or kill someone while driving around.

The witness then said that Isaacks lifted the shotgun to the window and pulled the trigger, as if he was aiming for something. Several more times throughout the night, Isaacks would lift the shotgun into the air through the window and fire shots into the sky.

Isaacks has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is currently being held on a $250,000 bail.
